Romania – January 1945. In order to settle a collective debt, 70,000 Romanian Germans are deported to Russia in cattle wagons. Without a perspective on return they performed forced labor in mining, agriculture or industry. Exposed to malnutrition, the Siberian cold and disastrous hygienic conditions, almost 10,000 people did not survive this fate. A documentary about an almost forgotten war crime in post-war European history.
